Near me is a chicken restaurant that has been open for over two decades. It is a beloved part of my community. It is the most popular restaurant in my town, and it has won many rewards for having such amazing chicken.

Aging Through the Decades

The Chicken Restaurant opened its doors in 1998. At the time, The Chicken Restaurant was very trendy when it first opened. Inside the restaurant, you would find the latest versions of cash registers and computers. However, many things have changed over the years. Trends have changed and technology has seen many advancements. Despite this, the Chicken Restaurant has never changed. The decor still looks the same as the day they opened and the technology has never been updated. However, they have plans in place to bring the Chicken Restaurant into 2025.

Into Today

The Chicken Restaurant is saying goodbye to the red and green decor. It has plans to update the restaurant to a industrial wooden look. It has very recently replaced all of its old technology with newer versions. Their workers now use an app to clock in and out, check their schedule, and to communicate with each other. Despite the Chicken Restaurant embracing the new world, it is forgetting one important thing.

What has Been Forgotten?

The one thing the Chicken Restaurant has forgotten to embrace is social media. Social media might not have been relevant in 1998, but it is a big part of our lives in 2025. Social media isn't just for individual people, businesses can also take advantage of social media. There are many ways a business can use social media to their advantage.

Using Social Media

The Chicken Restaurant is a small business and a small town, so I wouldn't recommend a full social media campaign for them. Instead, I would recommend a social media platform like Facebook. I would recommend  the Chicken Restaurant use Facebook for a few different things. The first thing they should use Facebook for is to post their daily menu changes. For example they should post about their daily lunch specials. The second thing they should post about is their store hours. For example, their have been times were the restaurant has had to suddenly close and customers kept showing up because they didn't know. It would be useful for them to post on Facebook about the closures (Austin, 2025).  The third thing they could use Facebook for, is to receive direct feedback from their customers. Interacting with customers is very important and can convince them to eat at the restaurant (Hamel). The fourth thing they could do is post to highlight their employee of the week. This will make their employees feel valued. The last thing they should do is post photos of their food (Fourthwall, 2024).

  1. Paige, you have great strategies for future potential with implementing social media as a marketing tool. It is what drives success now as most people use social media it'll capture their attention and since a restaurant is more of a local niche it would be nice for them to advertise themselves online in local Facebook groups. It seems as it is a very well-known restaurant being in use since 1998 which as you said is well over two decades. If the company were to grow to about 100-200 employees, I would say investing in a marketing team is a must. People want to see that the business is active and being innovative. Including new sales, combos and having a high brand recognition to generate growth and profit. Another strategy would be to focus on influencer advertising, inviting influencers to enjoy a free meal with the cost of posting a video and review about their food. This can be very good for local people and can grow the customers and audience reach.
